At the age of six he started taking guitar and solfeggio lessons with Josef Waidhofer at the music school in Perg, Upper Austria. 2007, he graduated with distinction ("Konzertfach" – performance diploma) with Prof. Marianne Waidhofer at Anton Bruckner Private University, Linz.

In addition to these studies, Christian has attended a large number of master classes with internationally renowned guitarists and professors.

He works hard to enhance his musical development with voice and breathing technique training.

In 2006/2007 he was featured from the Herbert von Karajan Centrum, Salzburg, Austria.

Since the age of 10, he has competed successfully in national and international guitar competitions and has given solo recitals as well as chamber music performances in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Greece, Chile, the United States, South Korea etc.

He won eight first prizes at state and federal music competitions in Austria, several first prizes at international guitar competitions and a special prize for interpretation.
Christian Haimel has also come to be an often-invited performer at international guitar festivals.
